The First Season

The surviving record opens with a new Discord bridge and a world that keeps needing repairs. Between the restarts, a handful of players begin making a place for themselves—and filling a public dumpster with things someone else might need.

When the Discord bridge came online on 13 February 2022, Ozzaria was already in its first season. The surviving conversation catches the server in the middle of becoming itself: players trying to connect, Oz changing plugins, and nobody entirely sure why something that had failed a moment ago suddenly worked. Then KDY noticed that the wrong world save had loaded. There would have to be another restart.

People came back anyway. That New Guy asked about equipment and how things worked. Fusion V helped explain the server from Discord. KDY moved between boss fights, item requests and moderation, while Bufong supplied a running conversation that rarely stayed on one subject for long. Before the systems were settled, there were already familiar names to look for when joining.

That afternoon, someone gave them a reason to need each other. A player called Elden attacked spawn, and KDY told him to stop. Bufong reported the damage. Elden admitted what he had done and threatened to return with more accounts. For the people watching their world being broken, the distinction between a troublesome visitor and a serious threat had become rather small.

KDY disabled him, and Oz came back with better news than anyone could reasonably have expected: a backup had been taken one minute before Elden joined. The damage could be undone. The threatened destruction of the server became a short interruption, followed by another round of players returning to carry on. Two days later, Oz was taking fresh backups in anticipation of another visit.

Keeping the world open required more than a good save file. Dio Brando became involved in discussions about moderation and was eventually offered Mod Lite. The Trusted rank took shape around a narrower kind of responsibility. When That New Guy suggested extra gameplay abilities, Oz explained that trust was meant to lift restrictions such as the ban on surface explosives. Players were being allowed to do useful things without being given a licence to spoil everyone else's game.

Meanwhile, equipment kept changing hands. Somebody needed a weapon; somebody else had a spare. Bosses fell, better loot arrived, and yesterday's valuable item became something another player could use. The public chests known as the Dumpster gave that exchange a home. By 17 February, Bufong was celebrating the old Dumpster's return. Even this young record already contained something people remembered fondly.

The chests were not safe from trouble. KDY later reported them being mined, along with damage to paintings and an Oz sign. Yet the idea outlasted the damage. Near the season's end, newcomers were still being told they could take anything from the Dumpster. Its whole purpose was to turn somebody's leftovers into somebody else's starting equipment. Nobody needed to negotiate a price before getting back to playing.

By 24 February, the remaining obstacle was Moon Lord. The tracker showed the long route through Terraria behind the players, but the last fight was still unfinished when Oz checked that evening. Roughly half an hour later, Lunar Boss appeared among the defeated. The next morning, Gost Man arrived to learn that he had missed it. Linguine delivered the news, and Gost Man's disappointment joined the celebration already in progress.

Victory bought them a little more time in the finished world. They fought Moon Lord again, traded fragments and chased the drops that refused to appear. By 27 February, Ashley was complaining that thirteen kills had still failed to produce a Last Prism. Finishing Terraria had not put an end to wanting one more thing.

Gost Man was already thinking beyond the loot. He asked Linguine whether they could live together after the reset. Linguine agreed, praising both his building and his company. Their current houses were about to disappear, but the arrangement for the next ones was settled in a few lines of chat.

On the morning of 27 February, Oz announced the reset. Not everyone noticed; Bufong had been occupied with Dragon City. Once the new world was available, building resumed quickly enough that Oz returned to find a large house above him. Ashley checked the boss tracker and found only King Slime. After all the endgame equipment and repeated Moon Lord fights, that looked like very little. KDY reminded him that it was only the first day. Gost Man and Linguine had another home to build.
